overrated

formerly known as "i make pretty pictures" because as a graphic designer, that is actually what some people think i do for a living, this blog will now be titled, "overrated" for a variety of reasons i do not feel like explaining. the focus will be somewhat eclectic, though sports, design, the arts and pop culture will be featured more and more. because these are the things that interest me.

debates

ok, watched the first of the three presidential debates last night. wtf? is it because i am canadian that i can see bush for the moron that he is? why can't more than half of the seemingly intelligent americans see this and vote this bastard out? he's an arrogant bastard who enjoys bullying and ridiculing instead of making intelligent informed decisions. can his "aw shucks, we gunna hunt them bastards down" demeanor really convince you people that he knows what he is doing? admittedly, kerry is no clinton. he is too smart and i can see how he can confuse some people. BUT COME ON!!!! how is this a worse option that what you have? kerry could easily repair some of the relationships that bush has disintegrated. he could make the world remember that america is a powerful friend and not the all powerful jerk that bush has turned it into. to be honest, my least favourite part of the entire night, was on the daily show. john (all hail!) got to do a brief interview with rudy giuliani. ok , i thought, here is an intelligent man, although a republican, still, he knows a thing or two and can give john a good interview without turning into a parrot and spouting all the typical republican nonsense. boy was i wrong. that interview could have been done with a tape recorder. it was the same thing over and over. kerry changes position, he flips, he flops. all this right after he saw the same debate everyone else did where kerry clearly stated his position. its like the republicans sat down afterwards and said, "ok, he took a solid, informed position, but if we just keep harping on how he changes positions, no one wil;l notice". so it basically has come down to the republicans making shit up about kerry now. even after he states a position clearly, the republicans harp about his flip-flopping. just making shit up. arrrggg.
