although much like the tragically hip, only canadians would probably find it entertaining. and now you americans (and beyond) have links to both to futher enhance your culture and wisdom.

my life is close to being complete. i bought the logans run dvd today.

oh dear god. i was listening to the radio this morning and i heard something that made my heart miss a beat. or maybe i just couldn't hear that particular beat because i was laughing so hard. rumor has it, that today, in etas-unis, is "respect canada day"

i'm sorry? respect canada day? to quote adam sandler "who were the ad genuises who came up with this one?"
so i did a little looking and all i found was this little gem

Respect Canada Day is observed annually on July 15 and is aimed at reminding our Canadian friends that we recognize they are more than a 51st state with a few strange customs.

does anyone really need to hear me go on a rant (tm dennis miller) about this? i honestly do not know where to begin.
